Site of the Chancellor House, Chancellorsville Battlefield: Making his headquarters in an inn on this ground, Union general Joseph Hooker was rendered semi-conscious by a Rebel shell here. The inn would later be the scene of the triumphant linking of Lee’s divided forces following the flank attack of 2 May 1863.
